Devotion Blog

"And pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests."Ephesians 6:18

My husband and I have suffered through four miscarriages. They were the darkest days of my life. I literally spent many moments in a dark closet, and all I could pray was "God, I hurt. God, I hurt." Along that traumatic path, I made many wrong turns (and I still do). Yet, through the Bible and prayer, God has been faithful to guide me back.

Homeschool Blog

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6

Taking sole responsibility for my children's education is an overwhelming task. . .yet, despite those occasional, creeping self-doubts, it is a decision I have never regretted. It is amazing to see how God weaves together our daily lessons when my heart is submissive.

Urban Farm Blog

"He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much..." Luke 16:10

We are on a quest to live more naturally, more responsibly, more sustainably. I'm not sure exactly what that will look like in the end, but I have learned that REAL lasting change is gradual and incremental. We are slowly seeking that permanent kind of change.

Knitting Blog

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made..."      Psalm 139:13-14

Over ten years ago, I picked up a pair of knitting needles. I haven't put them down since. I love that it gives me the chance to sit, ponder, reflect and refresh. Most of all, I love the opportunity to emulate a very creative God.
